We are Michiganders working for non-partisan redistricting reform.
Redistricting reform. It’s broader than party lines. What’s at stake is the voice each of us has in Lansing and Washington, D.C. The fair representation of that voice counts, whether you’re a Republican, Democrat or Independent. Partisan redistricting, or “gerrymandering,” is the deliberate drawing of district boundaries to favor one party or another. It makes districts dependably Democrat or Republican. “Safe” districts make politicians less accountable to voters which, in turn, leads to increased partisanship. It’s time to break that cycle. Michiganders for Non-Partisan Redistrict Reform aims to do just that: Give the power over redistricting to an independent body, not whichever party happens to control the Legislature when lines are drawn. Join us to make this crucial change before the 2020 Census. Tell Lansing it’s time to #countMIvote.
We are a group of Michigan residents who believe that democracy works best when everyone’s vote counts, we are ready to make change happen, and we invite you to join us today.
If you’d like to stay updated on how to spread the word on gerrymandering and the ways we can end it in Michigan please sign up here and you’ll hear from us shortly, or give us a call at (616) 438-6287!
